Warn and withered in my prime
I was old before my time
Those afternoon delights
Black and white, washed
In florescent candle light
Thought to share my point of view
With a picture that I drew
Bare for all to see
It was me
Dancing free in naivety
But they waited at the gates
Teeth bared and eyes ablaze
Spitting out venom flavored praise
And I started to believe
The words spoke in deceit were something true
Now look at what I have turned in to
This is me
Another casualty
Of a society
Where I’m too imperfectly made
Cover up your eyes
Turn away and walk on by
Let it be
This is just another ugly girl’s soliloquy
Bathed away idle concerns
Scrubbed it clean until it burned
Never time for those
Little woes, breathed in deep
As the water rose
Hung the moon up on a shelf
Kept opinions to myself
Shutting out the sound
Lost and found, swallowing
‘Til I choked it down
But they waited at the door
Fangs ripped and fingers tore
In hunger, screaming out for more
And I started to believe
The words spoke in deceit were something true
Now look at what I have turned in to
This is me
Another casualty
Of a society
Where I’m too imperfectly made
Cover up your eyes
Turn away and walk on by
Let it be
This is just another ugly girl’s soliloquy
Don’t let me be
Another casualty
Of a society
Where I’m too imperfectly made
Open up your eyes
I have nothing left to hide
This is me
I will sing my final ugly girl’s soliloquy see less
