He – Grief
A meager livelihood. Indelibly stained concrete,
deserted parks. Broken dreams
collected while growing up.
There, everything was connected to him.
In the dim sunlight by the window, he always daydreamed,
wondering where he might go. Endlessly thirsty.
When he finally reached a far away city,
he gazed into a puddle (and found himself trapped).
He struck at the darkness,
silently arranging his drugs.
Swollen from the tears, his eyes wavered quietly,
tracing the path of time, lost in the shape of things.
He looked at the scattered sky for the continuation of that song.
He survived that day with blurry eyes.
Deprived of warmth, he embraced the asphalt.
See, there is no above and no below. To desire is to lose.
If you forsake all that is connected to you,
you’ll only get hurt by this mistake.
In the end, he prayed that he’d be forgiven everything.
