В 1996 году вышел диск “Keys To Ascension”, а в 1997 – “Keys To Ascension 2”. Оба диска – “полуконцертные-полустудийные”; они содержали записи “живых” выступлений (исполнены были вещи 1970-ых годов), но вместе с тем в конце каждого из дисков были новые композиции, записанные в студии.
Данный же диск “Keystudio” включает только те самые студийные треки, выпущенные отдельно, на одном диске (без концертных записей). Его обычно не классифицируют в качестве номерного студийного альбома группы “Yes”.
“Keystudio” принято называть сборником, компиляцией.
Правда, с оговоркой - хотя он впервые вышел (именно в таком виде) в 2001 году, но если уж его определять как студийный альбом (а, по сути, это так), то он должен занять место между “Talk” 1994 года и “Open Your Eyes” 1997 года.
Что касается качества записанной здесь музыки – то “шедевров на диске, пожалуй, нет, но ни одной слабой вещи тоже”. Да, конечно, от Андерсона, Сквайра, Хау, Уэйкмена и Уайта мы всегда ожидаем новый “Fragile” или “Close To The Edge”, но в этот раз они просто профессионально исполнили хорошую музыку!
