Early the birds of passage flew
Last autumn towards south
Helplessly I remained
There would be a long cold winter
So long and cold, oh I'm tired
In sleepless nights of pure darkness
Breath freezes on my wounded lips
When deepest despair filled my heart
I wandered through the snow
And I felt lonely
Dreary shadows drifted by me
And winter took my strength away
Want to cry - Call out what you have done to me
But deep inside there's nothing to see
Want to flee - break out from what you have left for me
But deep inside there's no aim to be
Realize the pain in me
Such a fear why can't you see
Look in my eyes and tell the truth
You never loved me, I'm not yours!
Now thaw causes clean streams
The shroud of frost melts
Plants break the ground
And blossoms attest natures power
I regret each day with you
All deceptions and lies you have put me through
Do not exhaust my essence of life
You never loved me, leave me alone!
But at night there's endless mist
I see the stars I once touched
And blood is still dripping
From my wounded lips
Late the birds of passage returned
A long time ago and ice melted
But there was a long cold winter
So long and cold, oh I'm tired
