"Glass Onion", так же как и "I Am The Walrus", была написана Джоном Ленноном в
качестве его ответа критикам и поклонникам, решившим, что они нашли святые мощи
в некоторых его наиболее авангардных лирических фантазиях. "В этой песне я
написал, что "Морж" принадлежит Полу, - объяснял Джон много лет спустя. - В то
время мы с Йоко еще находились на заоблачных высотах любви, поэтому мне просто
захотелось сказать что-то приятное Полу: ты здорово старался все эти годы,
поддерживая наши отношения. Я подумал: у меня есть Йоко, а ты можешь взять себе
авторство". Среди отличительных черт "Glass Onion"- намеренно примитивные слова,
жгучий вокал Леннона и печальный струнный финал, контрастирующий с духом
