The first time when I saw you
I was blinded by your smile.
And the stars fell on us
Through the roof down from the sky.
When I was married
I kissed my beautiful wife,
And the willow was the only witness
As she laid down by my side.
By the light of the candle
I played my sweetest tunes
As she laid her hand on my shoulder,
And then she softly moaned:
"Oh please, won't you never leave me,
Don't let me be alone!"
As the sun set a silent curtain
And we stayed the night at home.
When I was buried
It was on a winter day.
As they laid me between those willows,
Through the ground I could hear your cry.
By the time when I was gone
She laid a rose upon my grave.
Oh Lord, why don't you help her,
As the tears froze on her face.
As I am in the wilderness,
I watch you in your sleep.
I send a kiss through the shadows
Right onto your velvet cheek.
I send my best wishes to my lovely.
Do you miss me as I miss you?
Your dark eyes should not be crying,
Because I always will love you,
And I'll always be with you.
