Ghost Of Sorrow
Unmask thy face to me, repulsed moon,
Partake of my tragedy!
Art thou the only, who partaketh
Of my contempt for insipidity?
Doth my poor breath force any echo?
Or doth the shade devour my breath?
So I am going to escape to
This eerie silentness.
Dusk shadows, embrace me!
Silence, caress me!
Sweet midnight, I fall in
Thy beauteous fears!
Soft gale, dry my tears!
HE: Didst thou invoke me?
SHE: Is it my fancy?
HE: From Hades arise,
SHE: Why didst thou come to me?
HE: Thy voice has awoke me ??
SHE: Is eternal thy slumber?
HE: I appeared 'neath the moon
SHE & HE:
To partake of my suffering!
O, carry me beyond being,
Take my soul and set it free.
I wish I were silent lyrics,
To thy sullen harmony.
Thy pallid face is strangely eerie,
But I turn myself to thee…
HE: Didst thou invoke me?
SHE: Is it my fancy?
HE: From Hades arise,
SHE: Why didst thou come to me?
HE: Thy voice has awoke me
SHE: Is eternal thy slumber?
HE: I appeared 'neath the moon
SHE & HE:
To partake of my suffering!
Let rest in peace thy ghost of sorrow,
Let me bare my mortal part.
A burning sunrise of to-morrow
Will command thee to depart.
Forever thine my bleeding heart,
Therefore immortal thou art!
