MIDNIGHT MIST
- words by Leif
With this song I hoped to capture the best elements of the classic horror movies - the ones where the danger is unseen and the suspense builds, and the mind begins to paint terrible pictures for itself. I generally like "psychological" horror better than violence and gore.
Lying on my bed thinking that I hear
Voices in my room, but I know there's no one there
Lying on my bed thinking that I see
Something moving in the corner, but it's darkness everywhere
Lying on my bed thinking that I feel
Something pulling on my blanket - who's doing this to me?
The swelling moon sends a breeze into my window
In the icy midnight air things are moving by themselves
Where are these whispers coming from?
Where are those footsteps coming from?
What is this against my skin? I don't want to look
Holding my breath, feeling eyes upon me
In this room something is very close
Under my floor inside the walls
Opening my door something crawls
