Would you just try? Pull back
The veil
From both your eyes; you’re hiding two gems
That give off a light, reflect
The sky. You’re guiding
The winds that will see me off.
Into a place I’ve seen
But I have never known,
Glacial waters, winter homes.
Look towards the sky, it’s never been
So pale. I don’t know why, I’m sailing
A sea of endless white, a thousand miles high, I’m trying to leave but
Can’t shake you off.
Will we both cry? Have something
To share, in both of our eyes? I’m Writing a hymn that gives off
A light, reflects a soul; I’m singing
For you at any cost…
Into place I’ve seen
But I have never known,
Glacial waters, winter homes.
This is the place you brought me,
Where we were meant to die, sons
And daughters, skin and bones.
