A Northern Dusty Path
Hugged by long tall grass
I’ll Scrape away some leaves
That’s where I plant my seed
But the fall is soon to drop
The temperature the crop
But will this flower grow
What Color will it show
So I sit and wait
Attempting to think straight
Searching for the signs
Of where you left your mind
An incremental change
Is a change none the less
So, please shut the shoots
I’m gonna need some rest
Rest tonight
There’s barking down my street
And it brought me to my feet
Last night I turned and tossed
I pulled my sleeves to wipe the frost
But your footprints through the snow
I’m not sure where they go
But I’ll chase away the clues
Instead of chasing you
So I sit and wait
Attempting to think straight
Searching for the signs
Of where you lost your mind
An incremental change
Is a change none the less
So, please shut your mouth
I’m gonna need some rest…
Rest tonight
A Northern Dusty Path
And it’s hugged by long tall grass
I’ll Scrape away some leaves
That’s where I left the seed.
But the winter was cold and fierce
And then the petals were torn and pierced
Still I’d see the frame.
And what’s missing you’re to blame
So I sit and wait
Attempting to think straight
Searching for the signs
Of where you lost your mind
An incremental change
Is a change none the less
So, please shut your mouth
I’m gonna need some rest….
Rest tonight
