August morning
or the twilight of the damned
I awoke
I don't remember who I am
Only fire is in my lungs
And the mournful premonition
Sky is veiled by the green lacerated shroud
Trees are naked, I'm enveloped in weird cloud
Scraps of memory return
I still have some work undone
All my brothers have been slain
I must battle instead of them
Besieged fortress
and we hardly held defense
They assaulted
But hadn't got a single chance
And to force our troops to bow
they inflicted treacherous blow
Where their bullets and the shells were powerless
There succeeded the green fog, the toxic gas
But they can't just pass us by
One of hundred has survived
Seems its time for me to die
But my rifle is still beside
I can't fire, I'm almost blind
Anyway I still can fight
In place of my brothers who fell
I am rising to my feet
I am gazing to the mist
Not a man but a furious beast
Wanna face our enemies
So eager to send them to hell
When I've done my brother's work
We will join beyond this world
Ranks of shadows
horned helmets with frog eyes
are approaching
I hate the creatures of this guise
I shall have to reap them down
And my bayonet is thirsty
Stopping this horde
Is the only way to earn the rest
And my award is bloody foam upon my chest
Glorious work fell to my share
That's the reason why I'm still here
Brothers, I won't let you down
Brothers, you will be avenged
I will make these cowards groan
I will drown them in my rage
They only have thousand or two
We haven't ordered to retreat
Death can wait for me for an hour
Though my lungs are harshly bleed
But the fortress will be ours
In honor of Russia and you
When I've done our common work
We will join beyond this world
August morning
Wind has dispelled the mist
I can hear it
Whispers me that I'm dismissed
I am free now
I am going to you my brothers
