You stood too near to be here,
shading my disgrace.
You took away my memories fear by fear,
making outer space seem fine.
Blow my mind, be so kind.
It should be unstained.
Then have a drink and make the stars feel blind –
oh I’m sure you’re trained in this!
Pleasant scar, fancy jar –
you’re sketching it so real.
But take a breath and see – we’ve gone too far.
We could never deal with it.
Now you can release my hand,
and feel the way I do.
I know that soon enough you’ll disappear and
leave a print of shoe on my heart.
