Shadows start to creep all over,
Engulfing me in a gray mist.
I fight for air in this suffocation.
Gasping and gulping, my lungs start to close.
Suddenly I awake lying on a bed of satin petals,
Which start to drown me.
Kicking and screaming I rise up to breathe
And find myself pushed back down to drown.
Barriers at every turn I make.
There’s no one to release me from this cage.
Coughing and wheezing, bleeding,
I extend my hand to you.
All I ask is for you to save me, to give me life again.
Yet all I see is your back to me.
No more dreams.
I am sinking.
Struggling to boost myself for one last breath of air,
But you’re not there.
I am alone.
