Песня была написана в 1961 году специально для фильма "Завтрак у Тиффани" ("Breakfast At Tiffany's"), где её исполнила Одри Хэпберн (Audrey Hepburn). После выхода фильма песня стала настолько популярна, что в разное время перепевалась Энди Уильямсоном, Луи Армстронгом, Джуди Гарленд, Барбарой Стрейзанд и многими другими. Одна из самых известных кавер-версий была сделана Фрэнком Синатрой.
1) дословно "Мы следуем за одним и тем же концом радуги". Возможно, это отсылка к популярной легенде, которая галсит, что если пойти по радуге, то на противоположном ее конце тебя ждет богатство.
2) "черничные друзья" — перевод дословный (huckleberry — англ. черника), в переносном смысле можно сказать "закадычные друзья". Однако тут отсылка не к творчеству Марка Твена (Том Сойер и Гекльберри Финн — Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn), как может показаться, а к детству одного из авторов песни — Джонни Мерсера (Johnny Mercer). Мерсер, по его собственному признанию, в детстве часто ходил с друзьями к реке собирать чернику, и именно этот эпизод своего детства он решил увековечить в тексте песни.

The song was written in 1961 specifically for the film "Breakfast At Tiffany's" ("Breakfast At Tiffany's"), where it was performed by Audrey Hepburn (Audrey Hepburn). After the release of the film, the song became so popular that at various times Andy Williamson, Louis Armstrong, Judy Garland, Barbara Streisand and many others sang along. One of the most famous cover versions was made by Frank Sinatra.
1) literally, "We are following the same end of the rainbow." Perhaps this is a reference to a popular legend that says that if you go along the rainbow, then at the opposite end you will find wealth.
2) "blueberry friends" - a literal translation (huckleberry - English blueberries), in a figurative sense, you can say "bosom friends". However, here the reference is not to the work of Mark Twain (Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn - Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn), as it may seem, but to the childhood of one of the song’s authors - Johnny Mercer. Mercer, by his own admission, in childhood often went with friends to the river to collect blueberries, and it was this episode of his childhood that he decided to immortalize in the lyrics.
