rip my page out of your book of life
forget the roaming streets and city lights
the cold damp cobble stones
the place i used to call home
you trapped me inside your grasp
an endless fight inside you thought was my last
a closed off cage, you taught me strength was rage
and all this time the wool was pulled
it turns out the jester wasn't the only fool
the king of self loathing
wears a crown engraved with my name
my kingdom has been besieged
by my own enemy
the flames skyward reach
and this pen now writes my misery
