Safe inside the dark wood
On a summers night
My captors are closing in
Both silhouette and shadow
Pull me into sight
My wish only to be forgotten
In the tire of escape
And visionless wander
My eyes loft in paradise
Between calm and earth
My mind grows fonder
Until I am ageless and wise
Running blind but hoping to find
The love I used to know
Could this be a crashing sea
That will not let me go
Oh sage trees who guard the keys
And keep my heart on forest floor
Take what seems but give me dreams
For now and forevermore
Oh sage trees
