RAIN MAN
The wait has grown too tedious
The mind has slammed its shutters
The dark is here, insidious
The tune's gone back to clutter
The cobwebs that enlace me
Knit by the hands of care
The same hands that embraced me
When I was unaware
Say, can you feel the music
Of rivulets a-warbling?
Or catch the sound elusive
Where freshets murmur slowly?
I'll never disavow
The cloudbursts I welcomed
What a familiar sound
The rain is back to beckon
I hear it talk softly
I taste each raindrop spilled now
Few people treat it fondly
Few care to think and feel now
I feel the streams conflowing
I see the lights awakening
I guess I must be going
The wave will soon come breaking
Before we're torn asunder
I'll leave you one more question
What shall we do, I wonder?
I'm open to suggestions
