Перед выходом этого альбома ходило много толков. Внезапная отставка Анжелы и появление Алисы из The Agonist не многим пришлись по вкусу. Поговаривали о том, что музыка станет уже совсем не той (как говорят умные люди: "Серьезно?! Но ведь команде всего 18 лет, с чего бы это?!"), что новая вокалистка не справится со своей задачей (спеть точь-в-точь ,как Анжела? А кто это вообще сможет?), что гитаристы не запишут такие же крутые риффы, как раньше, а ударник не сыграет все положенные бласт-биты. Конечно, я утрирую. Много людей, и среди них я, понимали что перемены - какие бы они ни были - стоит принимать с радостью и восхищением. Ведь не интересно услышать от своих кумиров продолжение старой темы. Гораздо интереснее по-новому взглянуть на них, увидеть в их новом творчестве что-то такое, что раньше не проскальзывало даже мельком...
Поэтому, преисполненный оптимизма, я записал "War Eternal" на плеер, улегся поудобнее, поправил сломанный шнур от наушников, чтобы он не выдал ни малейшего треска, затаил дыхание в предвкушении встречи с Шедевром, и нажал клавишу "Play"...
Первые мои мысли после первого прослушивания я решил не записывать. В самом деле, рецензия вида "Превосходно! Чудесно! Неописуемо прекрасно! Замечательно! Шедеврально! Чудесно! Восхитительно! Бесподобно! Божественно!" смотрелась бы более чем странно. И только сейчас, охладив свой пыл многократным повторением отдельных песен, я попытаюсь выразить свои мысли в читабельном варианте.
Честно говоря, альбом с подобной музыкой не испортил бы никакой вокал. Плавные мелодии на акустической гитаре, оркестровки, хоровые вставки - как небольшое вступление перед ураганным МДМ. А затем уже начинается самый настоящий фарш из умопомрачительно чувственных соло, жестких/рваных/мощных/ритмичных риффов, молниеносных бласт-битов, тарелок, бас-педалей и прочих необходимых атрибутов ударной партии.
Я не особый эксперт в области классики и рок-музыки, однако многие, многие мелодии мне кажутся знакомыми. Так или иначе, но практически каждая песня является хитом с незабываемым припевом и многочисленными второплановыми соло. Если убрать первый и последний треки (своеобразные интро и оутро), то выйдет вообще идеальный альбом, каждую песню которого можно слушать и слушать - и она нисколько не надоест.
И, понятное, дело, мне нужно что-то сказать о вокале. Бесспорно, он слабее, чем у Анжелы. Но, положа руку на сердце, разве грубость вокала это главное? Алиса поет скорее скримом, нежели гроулом, но альбому это нисколько не вредит. Напротив, это высокое рычание-крик позволяет прочувствовать искренность Алисы, ее желание сделать как лучше, выложиться на полную, отдать альбому душу, как это богохульно бы не звучало. А что действительно меня огорчило, так это тот факт, что чистым вокалом она запела лишь в одном треке.
Итого: имеем действительно ураганный и хитовый альбом, который если не самый лучший в творчестве Arch Enemy, то уж точно не провальный. "Молодая кровь" освежила организм группы, придала ему силы двигаться дальше, не терять былого жесткого звучания и не скатываться в модерновый ширпотреб. Из МДМ-бэндов, имхо, на сегодняшний день это самая перспективная группа, не потакающая общему вкусу и не разбавляющая чистым вокалом каждую секунду каждого трека. (А то же рэперы не оценят, какой ужас!) С другой стороны, все-таки можно было бы дать немного чистого вокала, хотя бы для таких любителей голоса Алисы, как я.

They rumored that the music would not be at all that (as smart people say: "Seriously?! But after all, the team is only 18 years old, why would it be?!") That the new vocalist will not cope with its task (sing exactly "What can Angela? And who can do it at all?) that guitarists will not guide the same steep riffs as before, and the drummer will not play all the necessary blast bits. Of course, I exaggerate. Many people, and among them, I understood that change - whatever they were - it is worth taking with joy and admiration. After all, it is not interesting to hear from your idols to continue the old topic. It is much more interesting to look at them in a new way, to see something in their new creativity that it was not even slipped by a glimpse ...
Therefore, full of optimism, I recorded "War Eternal" on the player, designed more comfortable, straightened the broken cord from headphones so that he would not give up the slightest cod, she hid his breath in anticipation of a meeting with a masterpiece, and pressed the "Play" key ...
My first thoughts after the first listening I decided not to record. In fact, the view is "excellent! Wonderful! Indescribably perfectly! Wonderful! Masterproof! Wonderful! Delightful! Unfortunately! Divine!" Would look more than strange. And only now, by cooling your dust by repeating individual songs, I will try to express my thoughts in the readable version.
Honestly, the album with such music would not spoil any vocals. Smooth melodies on an acoustic guitar, orchestration, choral inserts - as a small entry to hurricane MDM. And then the very real mince of breathless sensory solo, hard / torn / powerful / rhythmic riffes, lightning blast bits, plates, bass pedals and other necessary attributes of the impactary party are already beginning.
I am not a special expert in the field of classics and rock music, but many, many melodies seem to me familiar. One way or another, but almost every song is a hit with an unforgettable chorus and numerous real-terrace solo. If you remove the first and last tracks (peculiar intro and outro), then the perfect album will be released, every song of which you can listen and listen to - and it does not get bored anything.
And, understandable, case, I need to say something about vocals. Undoubtedly, he is weaker than Angela. But, put your hand on the heart, is the rudeness of vocal, is the main thing? Alice sings rather screamed than a groril, but this does not harm it at all. On the contrary, this high crying crying allows you to experience the sincerity of Alice, her desire to make it better to put on full, to give the album to the soul, how bogirls would not sound. And what really disadvantaged me, this is the fact that she was squeezed by pure vocals in only one track.
Total: we have a really hurricane and hit album, which if not the best in the work of Arch Enemy, then definitely not fail. "Young Blood" refreshed the body of the group, gave him the strength to move on, not to lose their former hard sound and not roll into modern lots. From MDM Bendov, IMHO, today it is the most promising group that does not push the general taste and does not dilute with pure vocals every second of each track. (And the same rappers will not appreciate what horror!) On the other hand, it would still be possible to give a little pure vocal, at least for such lovers of Alice's voice like me.
