Тогда приходят к Иисусу Иерусалимские книжники и фарисеи и говорят:
зачем ученики Твои преступают предание старцев? ибо не умывают рук своих, когда едят хлеб.
Он же сказал им в ответ: зачем и вы преступаете заповедь Божию ради предания вашего?
Ибо Бог заповедал: почитай отца и мать; и: злословящий отца или мать смертью да умрет.
А вы говорите: если кто скажет отцу или матери: дар Богу то, чем бы ты от меня пользовался,
тот может и не почтить отца своего или мать свою; таким образом вы устранили заповедь Божию преданием вашим.
Лицемеры! хорошо пророчествовал о вас Исаия, говоря:
приближаются ко Мне люди сии устами своими, и чтут Меня языком, сердце же их далеко отстоит от Меня;
но тщетно чтут Меня, уча учениям, заповедям человеческим.
И, призвав народ, сказал им: слушайте и разумейте!
не тó, чтó входит в уста, оскверняет человека, но тó, чтó выходит из уст, оскверняет человека.
Тогда ученики Его, приступив, сказали Ему: знаешь ли, что фарисеи, услышав слово сие, соблазнились?
Он же сказал в ответ: всякое растение, которое не Отец Мой Небесный насадил, искоренится;
оставьте их: они – слепые вожди слепых; а если слепой ведет слепого, то оба упадут в яму.
Петр же, отвечая, сказал Ему: изъясни нам притчу сию.
Иисус сказал: неужели и вы еще не разумеете?
еще ли не понимаете, что всё, входящее в уста, проходит в чрево и извергается вон?
а исходящее из уст – из сердца исходит – сие оскверняет человека,
ибо из сердца исходят злые помыслы, убийства, прелюбодеяния, любодеяния, кражи, лжесвидетельства, хуления –
это оскверняет человека; а есть неумытыми руками – не оскверняет человека.
И, выйдя оттуда, Иисус удалился в страны Тирские и Сидонские.
И вот, женщина Хананеянка, выйдя из тех мест, кричала Ему: помилуй меня, Господи, сын Давидов, дочь моя жестоко беснуется.
Но Он не отвечал ей ни слова. И ученики Его, приступив, просили Его: отпусти ее, потому что кричит за нами.
Он же сказал в ответ: Я послан только к погибшим овцам дома Израилева.
А она, подойдя, кланялась Ему и говорила: Господи! помоги мне.
Он же сказал в ответ: нехорошо взять хлеб у детей и бросить псам.
Она сказала: так, Господи! но и псы едят крохи, которые падают со стола господ их.
Тогда Иисус сказал ей в ответ: о, женщина! великá вера твоя; да будет тебе по желанию твоему. И исцелилась дочь ее в тот час.
Перейдя оттуда, пришел Иисус к морю Галилейскому и, взойдя на гору, сел там.
И приступило к Нему множество народа, имея с собою хромых, слепых, немых, увечных и иных многих, и повергли их к ногам Иисусовым; и Он исцелил их;
так что народ дивился, видя немых говорящими, увечных здоровыми, хромых ходящими и слепых видящими; и прославлял Бога Израилева.
Иисус же, призвав учеников Своих, сказал им: жаль Мне народа, что уже три дня находятся при Мне, и нечего им есть; отпустить же их неевшими не хочу, чтобы не ослабели в дороге.
И говорят Ему ученики Его: откуда нам взять в пустыне столько хлебов, чтобы накормить столько народа?
Говорит им Иисус: сколько у вас хлебов? Они же сказали: семь, и немного рыбок.
Тогда велел народу возлечь на землю.
И, взяв семь хлебов и рыбы, воздал благодарение, преломил и дал ученикам Своим, а ученики народу.
И ели все и насытились; и набрали оставшихся кусков семь корзин полных,
а евших было четыре тысячи человек, кроме женщин и детей.
И, отпустив народ, Он вошел в лодку и прибыл в пределы Магдалинские. Then the scribes of Jerusalem and the Pharisees came to Jesus and said:
why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.
But he answered them, Why do you also break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?
For God commanded: honor the father and mother; and: cursing father or mother, let him die.
And you say: if someone tells father or mother: a gift to God is what you would use from me,
he may not honor his father or his mother; thus you have removed the commandment of God by your tradition.
Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied well of you, saying:
These people draw near to me with their lips, and honor me with their tongue, but their heart is far from me;
but they vainly worship Me, teaching the doctrines of the commandments of men.
And calling the people, he said to them: Listen and understand!
not that which goes into the mouth defiles a person, but that which comes out of the mouth defiles a person.
Then his disciples, having entered, said to him: Do you know that the Pharisees, having heard this word, were offended?
But he answered and said: every plant that my Heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted out;
leave them: they are the blind leaders of the blind; and if the blind leads the blind, then both will fall into the pit.
Peter, answering, said to Him: explain to us this parable.
Jesus said: Do you really not yet understand?
don’t you understand that everything that enters the mouth goes into the womb and is cast out?
and that which proceeds from the mouth — proceeds from the heart — these things defile man,
for from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adultery, adultery, theft, perjury, blasphemy -
it defiles the person; but eating unwashed hands does not defile a person.
And, having left from there, Jesus withdrew to the countries of Tire and Sidon.
And now, the woman of the Canaanite woman, coming out of those places, shouted to Him: Lord have mercy on me, son of David, my daughter is cruelly mad.
But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples, having entered, asked Him: Let her go, because he cries for us.
He said in reply: I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And she, coming up, bowed to Him and said: Lord! help me.
But he said in reply: it is not good to take the bread from the children and toss it to the dogs.
She said: Lord! but the dogs also eat the crumbs that fall from the table of their masters.
Then Jesus answered her: Oh, woman! your faith is great; let it be according to your will. And her daughter was healed at that hour.
Crossing from there, Jesus came to the Sea of Galilee and, ascending a mountain, sat there.
And a multitude of people came to him, having with them the lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them at the feet of Jesus; and He healed them;
so the people marveled at seeing the dumb speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking and the blind seeing; and glorified the God of Israel.
Jesus, having called His disciples, said to them: I am sorry for the people that they have been with Me for three days now, and they have nothing to eat; I don’t want to let them go without being eaten, so as not to weaken on the road.
And His disciples say to Him: Where do we get so much bread in the desert to feed so many people?
Jesus tells them: how many loaves do you have? They said: seven, and a few fish.
Then he ordered the people to lay on the ground.
And taking seven loaves of bread and fish, he gave thanks, broke, and gave to His disciples, and the disciples to the people.
And they all ate and were satisfied; and they took up the remaining pieces seven baskets full,
and there were four thousand who ate, except for women and children.
